RELEASE: Senator Blackburn Signs Heritage Action Police Pledge, Stands With Law Enforcement

September 3, 2020

Nashville, TN — Today, Senator Marsha Blackburn announced she signed the Heritage Action Police Pledge – a commitment to “stand with America’s Police and pledge to oppose any bill, resolution, or movement to ‘Defund the Police.’”

“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line day in and day out to protect our communities. I proudly stand with them 100 percent,” said Senator Marsha Blackburn. “Instead of uniting to stop the violence and crime in our streets, the radical Left would rather cancel the brave men and women standing on the Thin Blue Line and defund their departments. As we have seen in many Democrat-run cities, this only promotes more anarchy and destruction across our nation. It is critical we stand together to protect our country against those attempting to tear it apart.”

“Tennessee’s rich history of volunteering for public service is represented well by Senator Blackburn’s commitments to our police officers. Americans are grateful to Senator Blackburn for standing up for our brave law enforcement by signing the Police Pledge. We call on every elected official to join her,” said Jessica Anderson, Executive Director of Heritage Action.  “At a time when our cities are suffering waves of violence and riots, the far Left is abandoning our nation’s law enforcement and with it, our cities. It is time to return safety and security to our neighborhoods, support the police, and put a stop to the lawless anarchy.”
