Blackburn Amendment Passes House

The House has voted to block the Department of Justice from using money to defend the Affordable Care Act. The amendment to the annual spending bill that funds Justice was offered by Rep. Marsha Blackburn and passed 229-184, mostly along party lines this evening. The measure — which comes after the Justice Department has defended the health care law all the way to the Supreme Court — is likely to die in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
